Expert Witness Services

Are your experts trained in CPR Part 35 requirements for expert witness reports?

Yes all of our midwifery experts are fully trained and experienced in meeting the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) Part 35 requirements for expert witness reports. Each expert understands their professional duty to the court and is skilled in preparing clear, objective, and compliant reports.

All work undertaken through Kelly Parker Medicolegal Midwifery Experts is overseen and quality-assured by Kelly Parker, who is highly trained and experienced in clinical negligence procedures, report writing standards, and the legal framework governing expert evidence.

Our experts receive ongoing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure every report produced is accurate, balanced, and fully aligned with legal and professional expectations giving clients complete confidence in the reliability and integrity of our work.

Who oversees the quality of expert reports?

All expert witness work is personally peer-reviewed and quality-assured by Kelly Parker, Managing Director of Kelly Parker Medicolegal Midwifery Experts. Kelly brings extensive experience in clinical negligence, governance, and the medicolegal process, ensuring that every report is accurate, balanced, and fully compliant with court requirements.

Before submission, all reports undergo a thorough review for structure, clarity, consistency, and adherence to CPR Part 35 and NMC professional standards. This ensures our clients receive robust, defensible, and trustworthy expert evidence and opinion.

How do you ensure your experts remain independent?

Independence and impartiality are at the core of everything we do. Our experts act only within their field of competence and professional expertise, and their primary duty is always to the court, not to any instructing party.

We have strict conflict of interest procedures in place, and every expert is required to declare any potential conflict before accepting a case. Our experts are trained to provide objective, evidence-based opinions, free from influence or bias.

What professional backgrounds do your experts have?

All our experts are highly experienced, practising NHS midwives with extensive backgrounds across maternity services, including clinical leadership, hospital midwifery, community midwifery, governance, education, and patient safety.

Many hold postgraduate qualifications (MSc or equivalent) and have served in senior or specialist roles such as Heads of Midwifery, Matrons, Clinical Governance Leads, practice educators and Professional Midwifery Advocatesw. This ensures every opinion provided is informed by deep clinical understanding and current best practice.

Do your experts act as joint or single joint experts (SJE)?

Yes — our experts can act as joint or single joint experts (SJE) when instructed by agreement between parties. We are familiar with the procedural and reporting requirements involved in joint instruction, including the preparation of reports that address the needs of all instructing solicitors.

When acting as an SJE, the expert remains completely independent and impartial, with their duty to the court unchanged. Kelly Parker personally oversees all joint expert work to ensure clarity, fairness, and compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules.

This ensures that all parties receive a transparent, balanced, and professionally reasoned opinion that assists the court effectively and efficiently.

How are your experts trained and supported?

Each expert working with Kelly Parker Medicolegal receives specialist training in medicolegal processes, report writing, and CPR Part 35 compliance. Ongoing mentorship, supervision, and coaching are provided by Kelly to maintain consistency and excellence across all cases.

Many of our experts have completed the Bond Solon “Excellence in Report Writing” course, ensuring their work meets the highest legal and evidential standards.

All experts also undergo a rigorous onboarding process before joining the agency. This includes verification of professional registration, indemnity insurance, Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) registration, and relevant professional credentials. This process ensures that every expert working under the Kelly Parker Medicolegal name upholds the same standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

This structured and supported approach ensures that every expert witness report reflects not only clinical accuracy but also the highest legal and professional standards.
